Google Drive Cloud Storage
Your district GSuite account (@d93mail.com) gives you access to unlimited cloud storage. We currently use Google's Backup and Sync tool to save your Desktop, Documents and My Pictures automatically to your Google Drive cloud storage. Unfortunately desktops and laptops do not have unlimited storage and this can introduce some problems.
When using this tool anything you add to your Google Drive, including Classroom material, is also downloaded to your computers Google Drive folder:
You might find yourself running out of space as Backup and Sync downloads your Google Drive contents to your computers local storage. Don't worry you can fix this by selecting what you'd like to download from Google Drive to your computer.
Let's start by clicking on the Backup and Sync icon in your system tray (if you don't see it you might need to click the ^ icon), click the three dots and select preferences from the menu.
Now that preferences has opened select Google Drive from the navigation pane on the left hand side. Select the radio button for Sync only these folders
Anything with a checkbox will be synced to your local computer. Uncheck anything you would like to not sync. It's advisable you do not uncheck Desktop or Documents. Once done click OK. Congrats! You just changed your syncing preferences for Google Drive and saved some space on your computer!
