Because Google has changed the way its software operates we are no longer able to redirect your desktop automatically.
What does this mean:
Before, everything you saved to Desktop, Documents, Downloads, My Pictures automatically saved to Google Drive. Moving forward this will not be the case.
What do I need to do:
When Google Drive is running and signed into you will see 2 things
- The Google software running in the bottom right taskbar.
- Google Drive (G:) attached like a hard drive to your computer
You will need to manually copy/move any files that are saved to Desktop, Documents, Downloads, My Pictures. At this point, you can work out of your Google drive as you would with any attached storage.
You can sign in to drive.google.com to verify the files are there and correct.
