⚠️ Important: Act Now! ⚠️
Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) is now mandatory for all District 93 Google staff accounts. For your security, you will be prompted to set up 2FA during your initial login; skipping this step provides only temporary access and will result in your account being automatically locked. Once locked, you will be unable to sign in and must contact the Technology Department to restore access and complete your security setup.
⚠️ Gaining Access after initial login? ⚠️
If you can't log in because of:
- Updated Phone Number
- New Phone
- Don't have 2FA setup
You will need to contact technology department through a work order to have temporary access to your google account. To ensure permanent access, you must manually update your 2FA credentials by navigating to your Google Account Security settings immediately. Once there, you can add or update your recovery phone number and authentication methods to secure your account and avoid future lockouts.
You can navigate to your google settings here:
https://myaccount.google.com/
Or through your Gmail here:
From the Google Account main page, we will navigate to the security tab on the left, and then click the arrow within the 2-Step Verification line.
From this next page we can see our 2-Step Verification methods we have setup. If there is a phone number already setup it will show here, and by clicking on the arrow we can go to change that number. (It will make you input your Google Password again before changing this).
After changing the number, Google will prompt you for verification by immediately sending a code to this new number, after successful verification you have updated/changed your google 2FA number.
